Best of Europe

From James Martin, your Guide to Europe Travel
This week we outline a great way for you to get out and explore the Venetian lagoon, with a little tour based on a round-trip vaporetto ride out of Venice (don't worry, the tornado suffered there recently has passed). Then we continue with our alphabet soup tour of Europe; travel destination and activities beginning with the letter "T". Trains, of course, are obvious, Texel Island, perhaps, is not.

Burano: Colorful Houses, Lace, and the Lagoon
Along with those picturesque houses with wild colors and the lace making museum on the Venetian lagoon island of Burano, there's also some good food and a continuation of your vaporetto ride that we've made into an itinerary you can complete in a day. Check it out.

Texel Island--Try the Wild Life, er, Wildlife
The wildlife the lives along the shores of little Texel island off the coast of the Netherlands might astound you. Easily visited from Noord Holland, the island invites you to stay a while and relax with the shorebirds.
