| Nana- | We have less than 24 hours to hit our goal of raising $40,000 by June 19th.

Please make your most generous contribution today and help make the whale fiesta and all the work we do to protect the planet possible.
 | Delegates from around the world will begin arriving in Panama any day now to decide the fate of the whales in the South Atlantic.
They’re there for the International Whale Commission (IWC) meetings and the very first thing they’ll be voting on is a proposal that would create a whale sanctuary in the South Atlantic.
We want to make sure that the delegates attending see firsthand the massive public support that exists for this proposal. That’s why Greenpeace is teaming up with a coalition of Latin American conservation groups to throw a "Whale Fiesta" in the streets of Panama to get their attention.
But we can’t do it without your help.
Make your donation today and help us raise $40,000 by June 19th to save the whales and protect the planet.
The music is all lined up — with three popular local bands signed on to play. And we’ve secured a high traffic park in the middle of Panama City that the delegates can’t miss.
There will be banners, inflatable whales and all kinds of colorful costumes on display. We’re going to make sure as well that the delegates know who is behind the party and that concerned citizens like you from around the world have made it happen.
It’s all designed to build public support in Latin America and the Caribbean and make it more difficult for delegates from those countries to continue taking money from and voting with Japan.

We have a chance at this year’s IWC to protect the whales in the South Atlantic once and for all. Public displays of support are the only way it’s going to happen. The delegates taking money from Japan, especially those from Latin American and Caribbean nations, need to feel the heat.
I know that it can sometimes feel like doom and gloom when we are talking about the future of whales. But this year is different. Thanks to the hard work of people like you we have some serious momentum for reforming the IWC and securing the conservation of whales for future generations.
This is also a celebration for you. Help make it possible by donating today.
For the whales,
Phil Kline Greenpeace Oceans Campaigner
