From Linda Garrison, your Guide to Cruises
Happy New Year! We're a few days into 2012, but I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the cruises I enjoyed in 2011. Last week's newsletter covered the new ships launched in 2011, but I also wanted to share my memories of these other great ships I sailed on in 2011.

My cruise travels took me to the Caribbean, Europe, Atlantic Canada, and South America. I racked up 100,000 miles on airplanes and slept on 14 different ships for 112 nights. I also squeezed in a driving tour of New Zealand. Now, that's a great (but busy) year.

Azamara Journey - Eastern Caribbean
In February, I escaped to the Caribbean on the lovely mid-sized ship the Azamara Journey. It was my first time sailing with Azamara Club Cruises, and I loved the size, service, and onboard experience.

Uniworld River Beatrice - Budapest to Passau
In late March, I sailed the Danube River on the gorgeous river ship the River Beatrice. Before the trip on the River Beatrice, I attended the launch of Uniworld's newest river ship, the S.S. Antoinette, in Amsterdam.

Nieuw Amsterdam - Venice to Barcelona
The Nieuw Amsterdam was almost a year old when I sailed from Venice to Barcelona on her in June, but she still looks brand new.

Aegean Odyssey - Athens to Istanbul
The Aegean Odyssey of Voyages to Antiquity is a small ship specializing in destination cruises. These cruises are educational and often stopover in ports inaccessible to larger ships. What a great way to cruise the Greek Isles and western Turkey.
