Get out there and visit a park! | | 'Tis the Season If you faithfully read every entry in every newsletter, we've covered many of the developments before, but now that all of the parks have opened and most of the new rides have debuted, it's a good time to take another look at what's in store this season as you plan your visits and vacations. Read the Ride Guide 2012. | The Newest Water Park on the Block Legoland Florida, which opened last October on the grounds of the former Cypress Gardens, continued its expansion with the opening of its water park over the weekend. Some of the slides and attractions are holdouts from the water park that was already on site. Unlike many parks, which charge a single price for admission to both its theme park and water park, Legoland requires a separate ticket for its water park. Among the featured attractions is a build-your-own raft that guests can then try in the lazy river. Read more about Legoland Florida Water Park. | Attack the "Men in Black" Aliens Will Smith is kicking off the summer blockbuster season with Men in Black 3 this weekend. It looks slick and should rack up some decent ticket sales. You can rack up some points by joining forces with Will Smith's Agent J at the Men in Black ride at Universal Studios Florida. It's one of parkdom's best shoot-em-up rides (Disney's Toy Story Mania is another) and immerses and engages guests in the three-dimensional MIB world far better than any IMAX 3D film ever could. If you really want to impress your ride mates the next time you are at Universal, here's a tip: Just as you begin spinning and enter the fog-enshrouded, giant alien beast towards the end of the attraction, press the blinking red button on your vehicle. Read more about the Men in Black ride. | A Rootin'-Tootin' Good Time Here at About.com's Theme Parks site, we sometimes get caught up in the hype of the latest, greatest mega roller coasters and other extreme thrill rides.
