From Linda Garrison, your Guide to Cruises
The Silversea Silver Spirit is a gorgeous small cruise ship that delivers exceptional service and cuisine in an elegant package. Lucky me. I enjoyed a wonderful 14-day cruise on the Silversea Silver Spirit, sailing from Santiago to Acapulco. The ship is in Europe this summer, and will move to the Caribbean in November for the rest of 2012. She starts 2013 with itineraries to Hawaii and the South Pacific, followed by a return to Europe next spring.

Tour of the Silver Spirit
With 540 passengers, the Silver Spirit is larger than the other ships in the Silversea fleet. However, the cruise line has retained the intimate feel, elegant look, and exceptional service travelers expect from Silversea ships. Those who have sailed with Silversea before should love the ship--the cruise line has kept or enhanced the "good stuff", while adding new features that will appeal to travelers who love luxury and expect the best.

Dining on the Silver Spirit
One of the best things about larger cruise ships is the opportunity to enjoy several different dining venues and cuisines. With 540 guests, the Silver Spirit is certainly not large, but the ship has a terrific variety of diverse dining venues. I especially loved grilling my own steak and seafood poolside at the Grill. Who would have thought it could be so much fun to cook your own steak?

Silver Spirit - Interior Common Areas
The interiors of the Silversea Silver Spirit are done in a lovely art deco style, with many neutral colors and rich burgundy carpets. The major exception to this is the reception area, which is done in green and blues. The spaciousness of the ship is quite impressive--there's always a seat to be found and never a line.

Outdoors on the Silver Spirit
The exterior of the Silver Spirit is all white, with the Silversea name emblazoned across her funnel. The mid-sized cruise ship has many quiet, comfortable seating areas outdoors, along with a pool and hot tubs.
