From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
Happy July 4th to all readers in the USA. It's a big day for barbecues, fireworks, and just having summer fun. This is also the beginning of birthday month - America's and mine! Have an Entertaining week!

Prepare an Easy Patriotic Centerpiece
Even though your July 4th guests will be arriving at your home in a few hours, this patriotic centerpiece is so easy to whip up, you can do it before they get there.

Take Our Poll - Tell Us What Birthday Planning Help You Need
Birthdays are celebrated every single day, making them worthy of extra special attention. July has traditionally been Birthday Month on this site. Before birthday month begins officially this year, I thought a little poll would help me to understand which areas of birthday party planning you would like to see covered in the upcoming weeks.

Update Your Summer Entertaining Style
Along with the change of seasons, it's always nice to think about changing up the decorations and serving pieces we pull out for our parties. We want to keep to the spirit of the season and the event, while giving our party a sense of the fresh and contemporary. I recently had the opportunity to interview one of the entertaining experts at Pottery Barn, and she gave me their recommendations for updating our party style for the summer of 2012.

Summer Tabletop Ideas
Centerpieces don't have to be elaborate, expensive arrangements. You can make your own with ingredients found around the house.
