From Donna Pilato, your Guide to Entertaining
I'm really not sure why more attention isn't given to birthday parties, when every day it's somebody's birthday! Since the other 11 months are dedicated to other occasions, I'll just have to pack as much birthday cheer into July as can fit. Have an Entertaining week!

Party Ideas for When It's Seems too Hot to Cook
I can't blame my family and friends for wanting to take me out to a nice, air-conditioned restaurant for my summer birthday. On most days in July, it's just too hot to cook. But if you're planning a summer birthday party for someone special, and you just can't seem to quiet that little voice telling you to host the party at home, this article will show you how to host a party and keep your cool even when it seems too hot to cook.

Plan a Refreshing Summer Birthday Party
It's hotter than hot this week and all I want to eat is cool food and drink cold beverages - coffee included! If I had my way, all parties should be hosted in an igloo with the temperature turned down very low. Oh, you think I'm whining too much? Sorry. Well, just in case you're hosting a party for friends that hate the heat as much as I do, take a tip from me and make it a Refreshing Summer Birthday Party. That way, you can keep the whining to a minimum.

Plan an Elegant Birthday Party
Birthday parties fall into two categories. There are the big bashes where you invite everyone you ever knew. Then there are the more intimate parties where only best friends get an invitation. With the latter choice, a more luxurious, elegant event becomes a more affordable option.

Celebrate a 100th Birthday
Do you ever watch the morning show that celebrates viewers who reach 100 years old? Sometimes I do and lately have noticed many of these birthdays are much higher than 100! So it's high time we seriously plan a party for the soon-to-be centenarians in our lives.
